First, I am a Nigerian Princess and need your bank account numbers, but if you can’t provide that, then the following is cool.

Wish List – updated 2011.  I have deleted things I can now find in country as well as things that were even more stupid than what’s still on the list.  Thanks again for all the Christmas packages, I haven’t bought food for weeks.

Face wash (even the bars) ie neutrogena or aveeno.  Also a face scrub to get this layer of red dirt off my face.  Benzoyl peroxide cream.

Dr Bronner’s liquid soap, preferably peppermint or lavender.  Any scent but rose.

Contact solution, this cannot be bought in this country at all.  Impossible.

Baby powder.  Baby wipes.

Flash drives, or self powered external hard drive (meaning only usb plug, doesn’t need to be plugged into an outlet itself)

febreeze.  I miss it.

Drink mixes: Gatorade/Crystal Light/kool aid etc

Tea: Twinings breakfast tea, earl grey, black tea etc.  peppermint  or peppermint—chamomile

GINGER SNAPS.

Instant Quaker oatmeal (maple brown sugar or strawberries and cream)

Emergen-c vitamin drink mixes, the generics are fine.

Excedrin

Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee/instant cocoa mix

Books & Magazines: (this list is updated as I receive books/steal some from other volunteers) Matt Taibbi books, Noam Chomsky books, The Girl who kicked the Hornet’s Nest (I now have the first two in this series) Bridget Jones’ Diary (just the first one, not the sequel), The Dexter Books, do not send me Lord of the Rings, check out like NYTimes bestseller lists and send me stuff, Michael Pollan (I have the Omnivors’ Dilemma), Christopher Moore (recommended to me by another PCV), polisci non fictions, A Long Hard Time, David Sedaris, Cameron Crowe, Listening to Duran Duran, Margaret Atwood, Cutting for Stones

Magazines– Economists, Foreign Policies, Rolling Stones, SPINs, newspaper clippings, gossip magazines, crosswords, sudokos, etc.

Stuff to study French with.

Pens — they are expensive.  So Pilot G-2 0.5 Black pens please.  And Precise V-5 in any color.

Teva Mush Flip flops sandals size 8 any color.  TOMS Size 8 canvas slip ons: any dark color.  It is recommended to send shoes in separate packages by previous volunteers…

dry mixes/just add water type deals (pasta sides, instant soups)/macaroni and cheese

dried fruit, nuts

tuna/salmon/chicken/meats in pouches/Turkey Jerky

hickory farm cheeses/meat

man hanes crew neck t-shirts in gray, v-neck t-shirts in white.

Anything from gap body & aerie (capri pants, long pants, tops etc) or just comfortable hanes stuff.  Smart wool socks, some underwear from aerie can never be a bad gift

Bandanas (I want girly colors, i.e. pink, teal, yellow)

Jif peanut butter (jar or to gos)

condiment packets from restaurants (like ketchup, mayo, honey mustard, taco bell sauce, maple syrup, soy sauce (the soy sauce here is kinda weird), duck sauce, spicy mustard, those parmesean cheese and red pepper flake packets from pizza places, barbeque sauce, ranch, salad dressing)

SPICES.   red pepper flakes, mccormick/knorr/kroger seasoning packets

SRIRACHA sauce, it’s a red hot sauce, also called rooster sauce, that has a rooster on the bottle and has a green lid.

sour patch kids, swedish fish, Girl Scout Cookies. YEAHHHH.
