2011/05/21 kamo be aho
So I’ve been a slacker and haven’t posted in a while. And I really don’t have a good excuse seeing as I have basic internet access at my house. May has been crazy right? Avocado and mandarin season, a certain notorious person was killed, I helped five and six year olds build a bonfire next to my house, new volunteers moved into the area, TG moved to Korea (literally is moving on a plane to get there as I type this). Also when I get back to better internet in a few weeks I’ll post new pictures and give you all the link to my youtube site where I have posted random videos of the things that happen in my life here. Mostly it is just video of kids singing and doing karate. But anyways, there is about a month or two (this is all uncertain because I am seriously confused and clueless about the different parties and national holidays and Pentecost that are going to cancel a ton of school and no one can give me a clear answer but I have learned to roll with it) left in the school year which is kind of freaking me out because I still have to give two tests and well I haven’t created them or given them. I have been getting into making the kids write and perform their own dialogues and I find it to be much more fun than grading exams. My English Club is currently doing a skit competition which they orchestrated on their own which is great for two reasons, I have less to do and they are actually trying to be creative. I almost got sucked into going to church ALL day tomorrow, I really don’t have the endurance, but I got out of it because there is going to be a retirement party at the school tomorrow so I look forward to washing dishes all day because no one trusts me to help with the food. Dishes are much easier anyways. So today I went outside and noticed the kids were hiding on the side of the house. Long story short I ended up sitting outside with them forever burning everything we could find. In our defense it is winter here now, we were cold. Also they already knew how to use a lighter which kind of scared me a little bit.
